Welcome to “Human Factors HQ”
Where Science Meets Safety, and Life’s Little Mishaps Keep Us Laughing and Learning
About the Blog
Welcome to Human Factors HQ, where we explore what keeps people safe, systems working, and, hopefully, what keeps us all sane in the process. I’m sharing stories and lessons from my years as an Aerospace and Operational Physiologist in the U.S. Air Force. Expect some serious insights—and the occasional tale of everything that can go wrong (and does!) when humans, machines, and high-pressure situations collide.
Whether you’re deep into the world of Human Factors or just curious about what makes us tick (and trip!), this blog will give you a peek behind the scenes of safety, performance, and how we can all make fewer mistakes—most of the time.
What You’ll Find Here
• Safety Science, Minus the Snooze
Safety and Human Factors don’t have to be all charts and protocols. Here, we’ll cover real-life lessons in situational awareness, ergonomics, and decision-making. You’ll leave with practical safety tips—and hopefully a chuckle or two.
• Behind the Goggles: Life in Aerospace Physiology
Ever wondered what it’s like to train for high altitudes, extreme G-forces, or space missions? Here’s your front-row seat to the exhilarating and sometimes laugh-out-loud challenges of working where humans technically shouldn’t.
• Military Misadventures & Leadership Lessons
Let’s be real: military life isn’t all perfect salutes and heroic speeches. From first-day blunders to “you did what with a jet?”, you’ll get stories of the messy, funny, and powerful moments that make service unforgettable (and full of valuable life lessons).
• Fuel for the Next Generation of Leaders
Thinking of a military career? Curious what it takes? Or maybe you’re just looking for a push in the right direction. This section is packed with advice, motivation, and the occasional pep talk (or nudge) for young Indian Americans and anyone considering a path less traveled.
Join the Fun
At Human Factors HQ, we take safety seriously—but we’re not afraid to laugh along the way. Comment, share your own “oops” moments, or ask questions about what really happens in high-stakes environments. Follow along as we dive into what makes us human, and how we can make things better—one lesson at a time.
Let’s get started!
